Director Of Media Relations
You will be responsible for sharing the Company’s narrative, forging meaningful emotional connections, and supporting Company objectives to fulfill its purpose. This position centers around cultivating partnerships with key entities and endorsed influencers within the field. The Director of Media Relations will craft a plan to convey the results of these partnerships, utilizing various marketing platforms and media contacts. Collaborating closely with the marketing team is essential to ensure all content creation, promotional materials, and communications are in alignment with the Company’s objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to elevate the Company brand through external channels that embody the Company’s culture, mission, and narrative
Establish and nurture genuine relationships with supported organizations
Design a comprehensive content strategy at a national level to effectively utilize brand sponsorships, nonprofit contributions, and product donations in storytelling
Collaborate with sponsors and organizations to develop a content calendar with clear objectives and deliverable accountabilities
Identify new opportunities for sponsorships and organization partnerships, setting specific goals, budgets, and timelines
Lead the creation of purposeful communications to key stakeholders that echo the mission, vision, and goals
Draft and provide input on corporate press releases, key messages, and other public corporate communications, ensuring consistency with the Company’s Mission
Manage local media relations for Company initiatives, programs, and corporate functions
Foster enduring relationships with local media outlets to position the Company as a frontrunner in the industry and a responsible corporate presence dedicated to its patrons and communities
Analyze media metrics to gauge engagement and campaign success, offering data-informed recommendations for enhancement
Collaborate with regional teams to coordinate and implement media relations and communications efforts
Work alongside HR, leadership, sales, and other departments to guide strategic communication planning and execution for recruitment endeavors
Stay informed on legislation, emerging concerns, and industry trends impacting the Company’s operational authorization. Assist in crafting communication materials related to public policies affecting the Company’s Mission and/or employees at federal, state, and local levels to instigate positive interactions with elected officials and external influencers
Take the lead in Crisis Communications response, collaborating with a team
Enhance the Crisis Communication Plan to ensure corporate readiness
Communicate effectively with Corporate Affairs team members and other departments within the organization, operating within a team-centric environment
Assist with special, high-visibility projects as needed
Create content for the Company, including textual works, creative works, audio recordings, visual/graphic works, images, videos, and multimedia
Support community and national events as required
Perform other duties assigned to help meet Company goals
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in communication or public relations
· Minimum 7 years of experience in public affairs, communication, and/or PR marketing
· Previous experience in corporate communications planning and reputation management is advantageous
· Ability to cultivate genuine relationships with external and internal stakeholders in line with the Company’s Mission
· Strong interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
· Proficient in project organization and management in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-profile setting with tight deadlines
· Skilled in prioritizing tasks efficiently and effectively
· Capable of multitasking and delivering quality work under strict timelines
· Familiarity with federal, state, and local legislation
· Understanding of media landscape and ability to craft and place media stories, releases, op-eds, and other corporate communications effectively
· Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe software
