Vanguard’s Family Legacy team works in partnership with other business lines to serve Vanguard Wealth Management high‑net‑worth clients ($5 million or more). The team focuses on helping families communicate their wealth purpose and wishes, educate beneficiaries to be good stewards, and prepare family members for future roles.
Eligibility & Experience
Demonstrated expertise in family systems theory, family psychology, family education, family business frameworks, behavioral finance, financial therapy, leadership theories, or related fields.
Preferred degrees: master’s in psychology, Family Communication and/or Conflict Management Certification, or Family Enterprise Certification.
5+ years of experience consulting, coaching, or advising families of wealth, family businesses, or family offices.
Experience facilitating one‑to‑one and group conversations, financial, business, wealth planning, succession planning, adult training, leadership frameworks, and coaching models.
Success in facilitating and teaching larger groups to generate individual and family change outcomes.
Demonstrated project‑management success leading small‑scale projects for family legacy marketing or program development.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and experience communicating regularly with UHNW clients.
Key Responsibilities
Co‑lead projects and co‑create facilitation and learning approaches to achieve shared outcomes.
Communicate complex concepts to families, generate change, and align business priorities with wealth planning outcomes.
Drive initiatives and coordinate across a highly matrixed organization with peers and senior leaders.
Develop content, training programs, pedagogical design, and facilitation strategies with adaptability.
Travel approximately once every other month; work in a hybrid model (work from home Monday and Friday, onsite Tuesday‑Thursday).

Facilitate family conversations and deepen the advisor’s relationship within the family wealth system.
Support the client’s family and wealth transitions toward long‑term financial well‑being.
Extend and deepen the firm’s relationships with HNW and UHNW families through a systemic, conversational approach.
Contribute to a differentiating family engagement capability, including one‑to‑one, one‑to‑many coaching, and a replicable family meeting process.
Build subject‑matter expertise and co‑create content with business partners.
