Position Summary
The Assistant to the Director of Media & Communications works under the direct supervision of the Director of Media & Communications and supports the church's media production, digital communications, and online presence. This position works closely with the Director to help communicate the mission and ministries of Shearer Hills Baptist Church through creative and engaging media.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with live audio, video, and lighting during worship services.

Record and edit videos for sermons, events, and promotions.

Create graphics and digital content for ministry communications.

Assist with managing Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other digital communication platforms.

Update website content and announcements.

Support media volunteers and assist with special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Excellent attendance, punctuality, and dependability.

Availability on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Positive, servant-hearted attitude and ability to work well on a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with audio, video, or lighting production.

Experience with video editing software.

Experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other digital platforms.

Experience with Canva.

Basic website management experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Attendance & Reliability
Because this position directly supports worship services and ministry events, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Employees are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to serve.

Compensation & Benefits

$17.00 per hour (non-negotiable)

Approximately 20 hours per week

Flexible weekday hours outside required ministry times

Eligible for the church's annual Christmas bonus program, subject to eligibility requirements and church policy.

Work Schedule & Holidays
Church offices observe designated holidays throughout the year. Part-time employees are generally not scheduled to work when the church offices are closed for recognized holidays. Because this is a part-time position, paid holidays are not provided.
