Director of US Public Policy

Seeking a strategic leader, the full-time salaried Director of US Public Policy will manage engagement strategies with policymakers and stakeholders, oversee a regional policy team, and develop advocacy materials to promote economic empowerment and regulatory frameworks in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities

Cultivate and guide public policy and government relations strategy across the US to support economic empowerment
Identify legislative and regulatory developments affecting Block's ecosystem and position the company to influence them
Build and maintain relationships with senior policymakers and regulatory agencies while managing a high-performing policy team

Required qualifications

15+ years of public policy experience, preferably in the US government and financial services sectors
10+ years of experience managing teams of policy professionals, including budgeting and strategic planning
Strong background in advocacy and public policy development related to global financial services
Proven ability to engage across ideological and institutional lines as a coalition-builder
Exceptional communication skills to translate complex regulatory concepts for diverse audiences
