The

Associate Character Interaction Designer (Internal Assignment/Project Hire)

helps bring interactive character experiences to life by developing gestures, programming show files, and managing audio assets. Working closely with creative teams, this role creates training materials and presentations, tests interactive content, and helps ensure every experience is engaging and performs as intended.

You will report to the Senior Manager – Character Design & Development.

This is a temporary assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do:
Participate in internal creative content and script review meetings

Capture and analyze gesture data to support gesture creation

Design and develop gesture grids and logic/bucket mappings

Create and manage gesture XML files

Program and test show files, including audio placement and labeling

Tag and organize audio files to support show programming

Develop training programs and “Train the Trainer” materials

Create supporting materials, including presentations, activity guides, and physicality videos

Produce PowerPoint presentations for training, reviews, and stakeholder communication

Conduct show file testing to ensure quality, accuracy, and functionality

Required Qualifications & Skills:
2+ years of experience in digital marketing design, product design, or training program development

3+ years of experience in live entertainment, WDI, character performing, training, or a related field

Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills

Exceptional problem-solving abilities with effective negotiation skills

Highly creative and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable working in environments that include a variety of fibers, fabrics, and furs

Demonstrated flexibility to support business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

A

bility to travel domestically and/or internationally required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Hold or be able to obtain a valid passport

Experience working in Smartsheet, Glover, and ICE database

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $68,600.00 - $91,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
