The Community Manager embodies this motto through proactive leadership, emphasizing service, organization, articulation, and a customer‑first mindset. Working with multiple Boards of Directors, the Community Manager builds lasting relationships, develops goals for each Homeowner’s Association, and supports the Boards in deploying strategic plans to achieve those goals. All major community projects and issues are managed by the Community Manager. Prior management experience as a portfolio manager is required, and candidates must hold a CCAM® designation or CMCA®/AMS® designations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist multiple Boards of Directors in developing and implementing the overall operational strategy of their Association; monitor and report the status of implemented goals to the Boards.
Maintain client relationships with the Boards by serving as a liaison between the Boards and the management company.
Develop fiscal management policies and procedures that protect each Association’s assets, review financial reports, and adhere to budgets.
Oversee the bidding process for third‑party vendors.
Monitor homeowner assessment delinquencies and oversee collection efforts.
Prepare the annual budget by analyzing prior expenditures and assessing new expenditure needs.
Administer all legal issues, ensure Association policy and procedure adherence, and comply with governing documents, corporate and civil code, and state and federal obligations.
Maintain all communications with the Boards, create weekly/monthly reports and action item lists, and preserve current and past Association records and files related to the operation and management of the Association.
Prepare agendas and Board packages and attend all Board meetings, including Executive Session and General Session meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
3+ years of experience in the industry, managing homeowner’s associations, city government, or related experience.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and creative thinking skills.
Customer service‑driven.
Excellent, effective, and diplomatic verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of project management, budget management, and strategic goal development.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
CCAM® designation and/or CMCA® and AMS® designations desirable.
Minimum Education:
Some higher education or vocational training specializing in the hospitality industry desired.
Good geographic knowledge of the surrounding area.
Availability
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional evening availability required for board meetings and business needs.
Language Skills
The individual must have strong written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
