Marketing Manager

Responsibilities This is a management-level position that involves both Marketing and Public Relations work. The Marketing Manager develops and implements ideas, activities and campaigns that create a positive and persuasive organizational image and message that connects with the community to achieve increased ridership and public support through public relations, advertising and marketing initiatives. An employee in a position allocated to this class coordinates a variety of informational projects to keep the public aware of the County's programs, needs, special projects and accomplishments. Work involves collaborating with the Public Relations Senior Manager on Marketing campaigns as well as overseeing the creation and editing of Marketing publications including the Annual Report and Riders Guidebooks. This work entails gathering, writing and editing material for periodicals, department brochures and pamphlets. Work requires independent judgment and initiative and is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Public Relations through conferences, periodic reports and evaluation of results achieved.
Work is performed within the established rules set forth by Palm Tran, federal, state, and local authorities, and conducted with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the public, and all equipment.
Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a closely related field, plus three (3) years of marketing/communications management experience.
Equivalency: Associate’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a closely related field, plus five (5) years of marketing/communications management experience.
High School Diploma or GED, plus seven (7) years of marketing/communications management experience.
Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
Ability to lift equipment and/or supplies weighing ten (10) pounds.
