Newscast Producer / Media Producer (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth) AM PRODUCER WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic NEWS PRODUCER who wants to tell compelling stories, dominate breaking news and severe weather coverage, and promote the values of journalism on air, online and to social media and on streaming services.
We are looking for someone with strong news judgment, passion for journalism, and proven ability to work within an award‑winning team.
This producer will be a major part of the station's online and streaming success by posting stories and other content on WAVY.com and possibly being involved in streaming content.
Responsibilities Produce newscasts with creativity and flair, including writing clear, concise copy on deadline.
Work under pressure to deliver timely news coverage.
Showcase excellent video production, emotional sound, and easy-to‑understand graphics.
Post stories and other content on WAVY.com and possibly streaming services.
Work overnight, nights, weekends, holidays and other shifts as required.
Qualifications College degree or equivalent experience.
2‑5 years of mainline news producing experience (preferred).
Strong news judgment and passion for journalism.
Ability to work within an award‑winning team.
Willingness and ability to work any shift, including holidays.
Compensation Annual Salary $46,000 - $49,000 – commensurate with experience.
