Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the marketing, advertising, public relations, and promotions efforts of Kansas Crossing Casino. The role ensures that all messaging and voice in advertising and promotions align with the guest service promise that exemplifies the company mission of providing Hometown Hospitality and delivering Fun. The Manager must also ensure that all marketing, advertising, and promotions activities comply with Kansas Crossing Internal Control Policy and Procedures, Kansas Lottery, Kansas Racing and Gaming rules and regulations, and Responsible Gaming requirements.
General Accountabilities
Responsible for overall development of marketing campaigns.
Maintain the integrity of the brand promise and Responsible Gaming message throughout all creative elements by ensuring logos and images are correct, and that the 1‑800 Gambling message is included.
Manage the relationship with the advertising agency, including informing the agency of upcoming promotions, reviewing and approving creative material, and providing strategic guidance.
Ensure all projects are completed on time for public dissemination.
Manage project tasks and due dates using Status Reports.
Oversee the Multi‑media and Print Graphic Designers and Communications Specialist.
Collaborate closely with the promotions & entertainment team to share accurate event information with the public.
Participate in the review and approval of all marketing material, proofreading for content, spelling, grammar, and image accuracy.
Maintain the relationship between the property, Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission (KRGC), and Kansas Lottery.
Revise and redevelop campaigns in response to internal or external feedback.
Schedule timely content placement on social media according to current promotions.
Develop relationships with media outlets to understand advertising opportunities.
Understand the markets serviced by the casino and its customers.
Possess knowledge of media planning and advertising development.
Develop and maintain the advertising budget.
Maintain the Advertising Checkbook and report monthly expenditures to Finance.
Support creation of marketing plans and related documents on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Order signage for on‑property advertising.
Maintain clear communication with team members and foster a positive, professional work environment.
Use effective communication tools to provide consistent, accurate, and timely information during shifts.
Perform additional duties as assigned by department or company management.

Have previous customer service experience (preferred).
Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
Be physically mobile and capable of pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 25 lbs., as well as bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and balancing in various work areas, including confined spaces.
Job Qualifications
Minimum age 21.
Management experience in gaming operations and thorough knowledge of casino advertising and marketing (preferred).
Knowledge of database software.
Results‑oriented, hands‑on professional who can interact effectively with the public, staff, and colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or a minimum of two years of experience in a comparable position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence, then write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Effective presentation and response skills for managers, staff, guests, and the general public.
Working knowledge of Excel and Word (required).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Compliance Responsibilities
In addition to the duties described above, the Marketing Manager must comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including:
Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
Obtain required license(s).
Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Ensure minors cannot gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcohol, or purchase tobacco.
Know the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures of the department.
Understand the property’s programs to address problem gambling.
Consult with appropriate individuals and maintain effective written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with state regulations and internal control systems.
Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations, and report such instances to appropriate management levels.
Report any acts of wrongdoing observed.
