Growth Designer

Overview
A Series A AI-native marketing automation startup is hiring a Growth Designer to own creative execution across brand, product launches, content, community, and growth experiments.

This is a highly creative, hands‑on role for someone who can move fluidly between writing copy, producing short‑form video, mocking up landing pages in Figma, planning events, building community programs, and turning technical product details into content people actually want to engage with.

The company is building a marketing automation platform for modern software companies, helping growth teams run go‑to‑market workflows across acquisition, retention, and customer engagement with AI agents doing work that legacy marketing tools cannot.

This is not a traditional demand generation, strategy‑only, or pure product design role. The right person is a maker: someone with a strong creative eye, a public portfolio or body of work, and a clear history of shipping creative projects from idea to execution.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Work Style: In‑person, 5 days/week

Employment Type: Full‑time

Experience: 2-4 years

Compensation: $150,000-$250,000

Visa Sponsorship: Not available

Responsibilities

Own creative execution across product launches, including launch videos, webpages, collateral, and campaign assets.

Create end‑to‑end content, from concept and scripting to shooting, editing, publishing, and performance tracking.

Turn product features, workflows, and customer use cases into clear, compelling stories that resonate with technical and growth audiences.

Ideate and run growth experiments across new channels, formats, hooks, trends, and content styles.

Support the development of ambitious creative programs, such as educational content, community initiatives, and branded programming.

Work with partners, creators, influencers, and community members to expand brand awareness.

Design and produce events and programming, including hack nights, speaker series, tactical sessions, dinners, and meetups.

Build and nurture community through onboarding experiences, digital channels, live events, and recurring programming.

Create lightweight systems to keep projects organized, including calendars, Airtable trackers, speaker pipelines, content schedules, and program workflows.

Collaborate closely with product, engineering, sales, design, and marketing to translate complex ideas into sharp creative output.

Track performance, learn quickly from what works, and iterate with speed and taste.

Qualifications

2-4 years of experience in growth, content, brand, product marketing, creative strategy, or a related creative role, ideally at a startup.

Clear ownership of creative output, not just strategy or coordination.

Demonstrable creative range across copywriting, short‑form video, landing pages, social content, campaigns, or community programming.

Strong portfolio, personal website, public body of work, side project, newsletter, social account, creative page, or other shipped work that shows real creative taste and execution.

Strong storytelling instincts, with the ability to turn technical product details into narratives, not just feature lists.

Comfortable using creative tools, including Figma or similar design tools, video editing tools, content platforms, and lightweight project management systems.

Strong aesthetic judgment and attention to detail across every asset, from thumbnails and emails to slides and landing pages.

Ability to manage multiple fast‑moving projects without losing quality or momentum.

Comfortable with outreach across social media, digital communities, partners, creators, and potential collaborators.

Collaborative and able to work cross‑functionally with product, engineering, sales, design, and leadership.

Excited by high‑intensity, in‑person startup environments with significant ownership and autonomy.
