Job Summary

Senior People & Talent Generalist responsible for performing People & Talent related duties on a professional level and working closely with People & Talent Business Partners and management to support leaders and employees.
Key Responsibilities

Support a client group or handle less complex employee relations cases under the direction of a Business Partner.
Coach managers and leaders on effective performance management.
Consult and coach employees and managers on employee relations matters, including policy interpretation, job performance, and corrective action, while providing solution‑oriented recommendations.
Administer various People & Talent plans, projects, and procedures.
Assist in developing and implementing employee policies and procedures, and prepare and maintain the employee handbook and related manual.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve department efficiency and employee experience.
Analyze data to identify trends and develop solutions to business issues and challenges.
Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and department results in relation to established goals.
Track and analyze incoming inquiries and investigations, recommending consistent practices and action plans.
Provide exceptional support to an assigned team of Business Partners.
Raise questions and concerns and recommend solutions to performance management issues.
Represent the Business Partner Team in project‑based teams to advance People & Talent strategy.
Facilitate onboarding support for new leaders, introducing university philosophy and culture.
Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the system.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Collaborate with People & Talent subject matter experts to support the business collectively.
Mentor a People & Talent Specialist or Generalist as needed.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish presence and credibility quickly.
Exceptional business knowledge of HR‑related laws, regulations, and practices (EEOC, ADA, DOL, FMLA).
Strong judgment and discretion in resolving problems and maintaining confidentiality.
Data management and analysis proficiency.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Coaching ability for employees on complex and emotional matters.
Proficiency in HR metrics analysis and recommendation of improvements.
Understanding of employment law and compliance regulations.
Experience with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Performance Management Systems.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
Five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience totaling nine (9) years.
Preferred Qualifications

HR Certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR).
Previous experience as a Generalist/Business Partner with client groups.
Travel

Up to 20% travel, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year) and other business events.
