Station Manager (A320)

Overview

Airbus is seeking a Station Manager (Operations Supervisor) to lead and coordinate all manufacturing activities within a defined station on the A320 final assembly line in Mobile, AL. The Station Manager provides technical leadership, oversees tools and jigs, and ensures effective coordination between processes within the Station and across related teams.
Primary Responsibilities

Serve as First Line Manager for all employees assigned to the Station, including selection, performance management, development needs, and recognition.
Provide direction and oversight of production activities, monitor progress, and model safety compliance with OSHA and People Safety @ Work rules.
Lead and coordinate a Multi-Functional team in the absence of the Business Unit Leader.
Routinely report to upper management on Station progress and surface potential problems and solutions.
Analyze operational issues, identify improvements and savings opportunities, and communicate Station activities to the FAL and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure material and tool availability to guarantee ongoing work progress; manage handover documentation to the next Station and related records.
Develop manpower forecasts based on workload and required skill sets to meet delivery schedules.
Identify and mitigate problems in the manufacturing process; foster cooperative working relationships across teams in the U.S. and Europe.
Lead Station in achieving annual objectives (e.g., CI, Quality Gates, KPIs) and ensure work packages meet cost, quality, and customer expectations.
Oversee attendance, time management, and value-added time approval in the booking system; act as acting Business Unit Leader when required.
Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with procurement to secure consumables, tools, and equipment.
Lead and direct Airbus Operations Systems (AOS) improvement activities.
Manage Performance Management Center elements, including PPCB, SQCDP boards, Daily Quality Gate, NC, Job Stops, Job Blockers, and 3Cs.
Develop action plans to improve AOS grade for the assigned area.
Training and Development

Mentor and develop Operational Leader I and Lead Technicians in leadership and production processes.
Provide documented development plans for workforce career progression; coordinate with training for personnel development needs.
Provide input to training requirements for the area and, as designated, act as Business Unit Leader in absence.
Physical Requirements

Vision, hearing, speaking abilities sufficient for production floor and office environments.
Ability to operate standard office and production tools and equipment.
Manual capability to carry, lift up to 30 lbs / 14 kg; push/pull, stand, sit, squat or kneel as needed; travel as required; walk through office and production areas.
