Working remotely, the full-time Production Editor will oversee a diverse range of graphic novels and comics from manuscript to bound book/ePub, managing production editorial tasks and collaborating with various departments.
Key responsibilities
Handling production editorial work for original titles, including 1-color and 4-color formats
Hiring and reviewing freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers throughout the editorial process
Performing quality checks on ebook files and copyediting additional materials such as jackets and reading guides
Required qualifications
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a trade-book production editor or freelancer with comics experience
Detailed familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style and proficiency in modern copyediting standards
Expertise in electronic copyediting using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF markup tools
Experience working on graphic novels, comic books, or other 4-color publications
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
