Senate Photographer and Communications Office Assistant

The Arkansas Senate is seeking a talented and experienced photographer to join our staff as a nonpartisan Senate staff member to work in the Senate Communications and Public Information Office. This role will work under the supervision of the Senate Communications and Public Information Officer and the Director & Secretary of the Arkansas Senate. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in operating cameras and proficient in Adobe software for photo editing. The ability to quickly turn around high-quality photos and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential. The Senate seeks a trustworthy person with solid communication skills and a positive attitude. Candidates should be able to provide respectful and professional assistance and work to be a helpful presence in the workplace. Candidates need to be able to quickly learn a variety of practices and procedures. The position is full-time and located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Functions:
Capture high-quality images using DSLR and mirrorless cameras
Edit and retouch photos using Adobe software
Collaborate with other Senate team members to execute assignments and projects
Ensure all photos meet standards and guidelines
Manage and organize photo files for easy access and retrieval
Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Ready to follow instructions and directives and learn new procedures when needed
Can operate under frequent and/or unforeseen deadlines with the ability to carry out duties promptly, consistently, accurately, and with high quality
Maintain professional relationships with Senators and staff
Maintain high standards of professional ethics; exercise appropriate respect and discretion with confidential and sensitive matters
Comfortable in a multi-tiered leadership paradigm
Can operate and comply with applicable Senate policies and rules, state guidelines and any applicable law
Dimensions:
Proven experience as a photographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse photography styles
Proficiency in operating DSLR and mirrorless cameras and Adobe software for editing
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for composition and lighting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Bachelor's degree preferred
