Sr. Director of Design, RTW
role in Los Angeles.
This will be a temporary assignment starting in August 2026 with a duration of 4-5 months.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Temporary Sr. Director of Design, RTW will collaborate and partner with the Creative Director to create a line that is on trend, sellable and on brand with the STAUD image within the knits, swim, and active categories.
Essential Duties:
Manages and owns the design process from initial sketch to production for all RTW categories.
Plans and collects trend information, fabric, print, color, and trims to put initial concept boards together.
Shares and presents concepts to the team & Creative Director.
Collaborates with the Creative Director on concepts, fabrics, prints, and fittings.
Ensures top quality of all category products.
Partners with the Product Development team to ensure costs of the materials, treatments and trims are within budget.
Partners with the Production team to ensure timely production goals are met.
Collaborates with the Technical Design team to confirm desired garment construction and look.
Coordinates with all cross-functional teams to manage the design calendar.
Assist with sourcing all fabric, trims, and any other components needed for the delivery from reliable vendors with appropriate pricing.
Mentors and provides inspirational leadership to all team members.
Assist in organizing and prioritizing workload according to delivery schedules.
Communicate any and all design revisions to team.
Review TOPs with Production team for any errors
Manage special projects, capsules, and/or collaborations, alongside Creative Director.
Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, and Education:
Minimum of 7-10 years of Fashion Design experience, specifically in RTW categories, is a must.
Exceptionally high taste level.
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design preferred.
Swimwear experience is required.
Ability to transform abstract ideas into commercially viable garments and meaningful collections along provided timeline.
Experience working with overseas factories and vendors.
Excellent verbal English communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate and interact with people of all levels in a confident and professional manner.
Must possess a strong knowledge of garment construction and fit standards.
Must be able to illustrate fashion figures and flat sketch.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, must be able to multi-task, prioritize work.
Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.
Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Acrobat.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
Ability to work flexible hours as dictated by the needs of business for projects and meetings.
