Associate Director, Mainline Franchise

About the job: We are looking for a strategic, results-driven marketing leader to own brand strategy and drive initiatives across the Mainline franchise portfolio, with accountability for precision marketing, financial performance, and cross‑franchise growth. The Associate Director is a strategic leader on the US Mainline Franchise Team. This position reports to the Head of Mainline Franchise and is accountable for leading brand strategy, owning cross‑franchise initiatives, and driving high‑impact marketing programs across the Mainline portfolio. This role requires the ability to lead and influence across market access, sales, finance, legal, global business units, and key stakeholders across the franchise ecosystem — including serving as the primary Sanofi lead within joint‑venture partnerships where applicable. Responsibilities

Brand Strategy Leadership & Execution

Lead the development and execution of integrated brand strategies across the Mainline franchise portfolio, driving strategic direction through data‑driven insights and market intelligence
Own cross‑franchise initiatives from strategy through execution, ensuring alignment and accountability across brands
Independently identify, prioritize, and activate growth opportunities based on market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer insights
Lead franchise planning processes, owning the development of strategic roadmaps aligned to organizational priorities and the Sanofi "Play to Win" ambition
Own P&L management and financial accountability for the franchise, driving data‑informed decisions to optimize investment and business performance

Joint Venture & Partnership Leadership (for Vaxelis)

Serve as the primary Sanofi lead and strategic owner for marketing strategy and execution within the joint‑venture partnership
Lead the relationship between Sanofi and joint‑venture partners, directing collaborative efforts and driving outcomes against shared commercial objectives

Precision Marketing & Customer Insights

Own the precision marketing strategy, directing the application of analytics, segmentation, and targeting approaches to maximize ROI and customer engagement
Lead segmentation analysis to identify and act on financial opportunities, directing channel deployment and execution decisions
Ensure customer insights are embedded across the full experience journey to drive relevant, personalized engagement
Develop and apply a deep understanding of customer drivers, barriers, and behaviors to lead behavior‑change activation strategies
Leverage real‑time data, digital analytics, and performance metrics to drive continuous optimization of marketing tactics, with accountability for ROI outcomes

Growth Identification & Activation

Independently identify, prioritize, and activate market, brand, and customer opportunities in response to evolving competitive dynamics, market trends, and customer behaviors
Lead the development and execution of activation plans for growth initiatives that expand franchise reach and improve customer experience
Direct the testing and scaling of new marketing approaches, channels, and tactics in response to evolving market dynamics
Own strategy refinements in response to competitive landscape shifts and changing HCP and consumer behaviors, making real‑time decisions to protect and grow brand performance

Strategic Execution & Performance Management

Lead the development of annual strategic integrated marketing plans aligned to strategic imperatives and business goals
Own the KPI framework and performance accountability across the franchise, driving analysis and directing optimization decisions to deliver against business objectives
Lead the day‑to‑day development and execution of omnichannel campaigns in partnership with creative agencies and third‑party vendors
Direct the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval of promotional materials
Own and manage the promotional budget, making strategic investment decisions to maximize efficiency and business impact

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotech or vaccine marketing, sales, strategy or related experience within an agency
Proven strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and independently develop and execute actionable strategies
Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross‑functional teams without direct authority, driving decisions and outcomes across a matrixed organization
Strong leadership and strategic decision‑making skills, with the ability to operate with autonomy and drive results in a complex, fast‑moving environment
Proven track record of leading tactical design, messaging, and omnichannel execution across multiple brands or campaigns
Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree (MBA or related field)
4 or more years of vaccine marketing experience
2 or more years in a vaccine customer‑facing role
Advanced expertise in precision marketing, segmentation, and data‑driven decision‑making, with a track record of delivering measurable ROI
Proven financial management skills, including P&L ownership, budget accountability, and investment optimization
Demonstrated experience managing creative agencies and third‑party vendors, directing work to deliver on strategic and business objectives
Proven ability to navigate legal, regulatory, and medical review processes for promotional materials
Advanced proficiency with digital tools, analytics platforms, and marketing technology
Demonstrated experience leading multiple brands or cross‑brand strategic initiatives simultaneously
Advanced expertise in precision marketing, customer analytics, or marketing automation platforms, with proven ability to translate insights into strategic action
Experience leading agile ways of working and driving iterative, test‑and‑learn marketing approaches at scale
Proven experience leading within joint‑venture or partnership environments, including cross‑organizational stakeholder management
Demonstrated track record of driving innovation and leading the development and scaling of new marketing approaches

Compensation

The salary range for this position is: $148,500.00 - $214,500.00. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
