ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Content Creation and Management : Create compelling, informative, and visually appealing content for Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, NextDoor, YouTube, and other platforms. Maintain a content calendar for consistent, timely posts and campaigns. Collaborate with the communications team to develop multimedia content.
Social Media Engagement : Monitor and engage with the community, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries. Foster positive interactions, discussions, and feedback with residents, businesses, and stakeholders. Proactively identify and address potential issues.
Analytics and Reporting : Analyze metrics and generate regular reports to evaluate effectiveness. Use data‑driven insights to adjust and improve strategies.
Compliance and Best Practices : Ensure activities align with County policies, guidelines, and legal requirements. Stay updated on latest trends and best practices and implement them.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
3‑5 years of proven experience in social media management and strategy, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
Strong understanding of social media strategy, editorial calendars, and content plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, multitasking and time‑management skills.
Understanding of Montgomery County communities is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Creative, strategic, and innovative mindset with passion for social media.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employees regularly stand, walk, sit, and talk and hear. Occasionally use hands for handling objects, reach with arms, and may stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. The work environment is usually moderate noise.
