Overview Support the Director, External Communications in strategy, planning and execution of communications tactics supporting retailer programming objectives to maximize earned media coverage and grow retailer sentiment. Assist the team to develop media strategies and a supporting calendar, and execute activities aligned with the larger goal of increasing awareness and retailer sentiment. Plan and manage speaking and interview engagements for brand spokespeople including executive leadership, merchandising, marketing ambassadors, and more. In partnership with the Director, help lead day-to-day management of US external communications agencies, providing direction and overseeing execution of press outreach and activities for company and brand initiatives. Coordinate with cross-functional partners to evaluate, plan and coordinate upcoming program focuses, outputs and relevant updates. Support the Director with issues management including response planning and acting as a participating partner of the Reputation Comms Lead team with agency and cross-functional partners. Help coordinate and execute cross-functional, monthly and quarterly reporting. Maintain composure, problem solve, and partner with internal and external groups to ensure the retailer and brand are represented according to our values in all situations. Assist in managing the Public Relations budget, calendar, and marketing task list with ease.

Lead day-to-day management of US external communications agencies, directing press outreach and activities for company and brand initiatives.
Liaise with cross-functional partners to evaluate, plan and coordinate upcoming program focuses, outputs and updates.
Support issues management including response planning and participate in the Reputation Comms Lead team with agency and cross-functional partners.
Coordinate and execute cross-functional, monthly and quarterly reporting.
Maintain composure, problem solve, and ensure representation of the retailer and brand in line with values.
Assist in managing the Public Relations budget, calendar, and marketing task list.
Qualifications 5+ years experience in public relations, in-house or agency.
Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal), with a keen understanding of press relations and how to balance messaging and company priorities as a spokesperson.
Strong presentation capabilities, able to communicate upward and laterally with partners.
Strong critical thinking abilities and the ability to collaborate with other groups.
Effective organizational and time management skills, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Independent thinker who values teamwork and understands internal and external client needs and priorities.
Self-starter, action-oriented, resourceful, able to take a project from start to completion.
Charisma with the ability to balance personality and professional perspective with business objectives and priorities.
Thrives in an environment with high public exposure and a diverse range of personalities and opinions.
Understanding of retail cosmetics with passion for beauty and client experience.
Elevated computer and social media skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Flexibility and ability to take and incorporate feedback from a variety of stakeholders.
