Leadership Now Project is seeking a creative, execution-oriented Marketing & Audience Engagement Manager to help grow and engage our external audience across digital channels.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how to translate ideas and timely conversations into compelling newsletters, social content, audience campaigns, and digital engagement strategies. The right candidate will combine strong editorial instincts with hands‑on marketing execution and a working knowledge of paid and targeted digital outreach.

The position will work closely with Leadership Now’s communications and executive teams to support organizational visibility, audience growth, event promotion, and member engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Execution (40%)

Manage day-to-day execution of Leadership Now’s external social media channels, including LinkedIn, Substack, Instagram, and emerging platforms.

Test and refine post structure and assets

Draft, schedule, and publish social content tied to events, rapid response moments, research, media coverage, and organizational priorities

Repost Leadership Now member content (working in tandem with our membership lead)

Support live event social coverage and real-time amplification during major convenings and briefings

Maintain content calendars with the Director of Content and coordinate approvals across teams

Help translate longer‑form reports and events into compelling digital content and audience‑friendly formats (creating graphics to A/B test)

Newsletter & Audience Engagement (20%)

Support execution of external newsletters and email campaigns

Format newsletter copy, headlines, calls to action, and audience updates

Assist with audience segmentation and list management efforts

Track engagement metrics including open rates, click‑through rates, subscriber growth, and content performance

Support promotion of Leadership Now events, initiatives, and announcements across owned channels

Assist with newsletter production, scheduling, testing, and quality control

Website & Content Publishing (20%)

Own news content on the Leadership Now website (WordPress): publishing blog posts, member spotlights, press items, and op‑eds

Manage the monthly insights and homepage featured rotation

Apply basic on‑page SEO and improve organic discoverability of reports, Business Plan for America and other policy content

Repackage long‑form reports and events into web and social assets working with product leads for those items

Triage and route inbound website requests in coordination with the operations team

Paid & Targeted Marketing Support (10%)

Support targeted audience outreach and paid social campaigns

Assist with audience targeting, A/B testing, reporting, and campaign optimization

Work with external partners on digital advertising execution

Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve reach and engagement

Support experimentation with new audience growth and engagement strategies

Marketing & Communications Support (10%)

Help maintaining marketing calendars and campaign timelines

Support promotion for events, virtual briefings, reports, and organizational initiatives

Identify opportunities to repurpose long‑form content into digital and social assetsAssist with light graphic coordination and content packaging as needed

Qualifications

5–7 years of experience in marketing, audience development, communications, media, digital strategy, or related fields

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone across platforms

Experience executing social media and newsletter initiatives for a brand, media organization, nonprofit, or mission‑driven company

Familiarity with digital marketing and paid audience targeting strategies

Experience with email marketing platforms, social scheduling tools, and analytics dashboards

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Comfortable working in fast‑paced, news‑driven, or politically adjacent environments

Interest in business leadership, current events, public policy, media, or civic engagement

Comfort with digital tools like LinkedIn ad manager, Riverside, Claude and Canva
