The
Accounts Payable Director
will own and elevate the AP operation. Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop the AP Team:
Oversee the full accounts payable function, managing and mentoring a team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payment processing at scale.
Drive Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions (from automation initiatives to policy upgrades) that position the AP function for continued growth.
Own Vendor & Payment Operations:
Manage vendor relationships, oversee check runs and wire payments, and ensure all disbursements are properly approved, documented, and reconciled.
Ensure Compliance & Audit Readiness:
Maintain strong internal controls, lead audit preparation, and ensure adherence to healthcare industry regulations and company policies.
Partner Cross-Functionally:
Collaborate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to align AP workflows with broader financial operations and reporting requirements.
Must-Have Qualifications
Experience:
8+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within healthcare, hospitals, or nonprofit (or a similarly regulated industry).
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and ERP systems. Strong proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
