Role Overview
Cymbiotika is seeking a strategic, highly organized, and customer-focused Lifecycle Marketing Manager to help execute and evolve our owned-channel marketing program across email, SMS, push notifications, and future CRM channels.
This role will partner closely with the Director of Lifecycle Marketing to turn business objectives into thoughtful customer experiences that improve engagement, retention, subscription performance, customer lifetime value, and overall satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines strong executional discipline with analytical thinking, sound creative judgment, and a genuine interest in building stronger customer relationships.
This highly cross-functional role works closely with our lifecycle marketing agency and internal teams across Brand, Creative, Ecommerce, Product Marketing, Customer Experience, Retail, Analytics, and Growth to deliver a connected and consistent customer experience across every touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Strategy & Campaign Management
Own the planning, coordination, QA, deployment, and optimization of customer communications across email, SMS, push notifications, automated journeys, and future owned channels.
Partner with the Director of Lifecycle Marketing to strengthen the existing lifecycle program and identify new opportunities across acquisition, product discovery, education, post-purchase, subscription, retention, loyalty, and win-back.
Develop and manage testing strategies across messaging, creative, timing, cadence, offers, segmentation, and customer journeys.
Use customer behavior and performance insights to create more relevant, personalized, and valuable customer experiences over time.
Agency & Cross-Functional Project Management
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for our lifecycle marketing agency, providing clear briefs, strategic direction, feedback, priorities, and timelines.
Manage multiple agency and cross-functional workstreams while ensuring projects remain organized, aligned, and on schedule.
Collaborate with Brand, Creative, Ecommerce, Product Marketing, Customer Experience, Retail, Analytics, and Growth teams to ensure lifecycle initiatives are represented early in the planning process.
Creative Development & Execution
Write clear and actionable marketing briefs, edit customer-facing copy, refine subject lines and calls to action, and provide thoughtful creative feedback.
Partner with internal and external teams to ensure campaigns align with brand standards, business priorities, and customer experience goals.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
Monitor performance across engagement, conversion, revenue contribution, retention, subscription performance, repeat purchase, deliverability, and customer lifetime value.
Identify discrepancies, trends, risks, and areas of opportunity, translating findings into actionable recommendations and optimization plans.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Help improve lifecycle processes, reporting, documentation, and operational workflows as the program continues to evolve.
Contribute to building scalable lifecycle marketing operations that support continued business growth and efficiency.
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, retention marketing, customer marketing, or a related function within an ecommerce or consumer brand.
Hands-on experience managing communications across email, SMS, push notifications, or other owned channels.
Experience working in Klaviyo and with SMS platforms.
Strong understanding of lifecycle strategy, automation, segmentation, personalization, testing, and customer journey development.
Experience managing an agency, vendor, or external partner.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and cross-functional dependencies.
Experience writing marketing briefs and editing customer-facing copy.
Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to identify discrepancies, question results, and uncover areas of opportunity.
Experience with Shopify and analytics or reporting platforms.
Clear and confident communicator who can provide direction, influence stakeholders, and keep work moving forward.
Comfortable balancing collaboration with accountability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Work Location & Schedule
This position follows an enforced hybrid schedule, requiring team members to be present in our San Diego, California office at least four days per week (Monday–Thursday). Fridays are available for remote work. This role also requires attendance at all in-person monthly team meetings and quarterly company events.
Physical Requirements
This role primarily involves office-based work and requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 20–30 pounds, such as files or office supplies. Employees should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform frequent computer-based tasks, including prolonged exposure to a computer screen.
The salary range for this position is $110,000-130,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
