Experience In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience Knowledge of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), particularly Group3 and Group4 platforms, including payload integration, operational employment, sustainment requirements, and emerging capability trends.
Authoring, reviewing, and directing development of key DoD requirements documents such as Capabilities Development Documents (CDD), Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and supporting requirement artifacts.
High proficiency with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES) and the Requirements Generation System (RGS), applying both to shape programmatic strategies and long‑range resourcing recommendations across the enterprise.
Ability to lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and serve as a technical and operational representative to senior leaders and external partners, including DoD agencies, USSOCOM, other Service components, and private industry.
Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including military personnel, Federal civilians, and contractors, ensuring effective task assignment, mentoring, workload prioritization, and performance evaluation in high‑tempo environments.
Develop, validate, and refine programmatic requirements, delivering informed recommendations and resourcing strategies that support current operations and future transformation efforts impacting the command.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, providing senior leadership with clear, actionable recommendations, high‑quality briefings, and expertly crafted decision‑focused documents.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS‑12).
Time in Grade Requirement Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS‑12).
