COMPANY Our client is a healthcare education, media, and clinical research organization focused on making evidence-based medical information more accessible and useful. Through physician-led content, educational programs, publications, investigator training, and clinical research insights, the organization helps connect healthcare audiences with credible information and meaningful learning opportunities.
The organization is part of a rapidly expanding clinical research network with 30+ sites across 10 states. Growth is continuing, creating a strong opportunity for a commercially minded professional to help build partnerships, launch new revenue channels, and shape a developing sales function.
POSITION The Business Development Manager will expand strategic partnerships, develop new revenue opportunities, and strengthen relationships across the healthcare and clinical research ecosystem. This person will take a hands‑on role in identifying prospects, developing customized proposals, building relationships, and helping bring new commercial ideas to market.
The role will focus on generating revenue through sponsorships, advertising, educational programs, physician-focused publications, podcasts, investigator training, virtual grand rounds, and related partnership opportunities. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial salesperson with strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to create momentum in a growing business.
RESPONSIBILITIES Identify, prospect, and develop new partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, research sites, CROs, physician groups, and related industry stakeholders.
Generate revenue through sponsorships, advertising, educational content, therapeutic publications, podcasts, investigator training, virtual grand rounds, and related offerings.
Promote opportunities connected to the client’s clinical research site directory, including premium and center-of-excellence partnership options.
Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, contract execution, and account growth.
Build customized partnership proposals and sponsorship packages with support from leadership and internal subject‑matter experts.
Maintain accurate pipeline activity, sales forecasting, client notes, and performance reporting within Salesforce.
Represent the organization at select industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of successful experience in sales, business development, account management, partnerships, sponsorship sales, or a similar revenue‑generating role.
Proven ability to build relationships, develop new business, and meet or exceed sales goals.
Strong consultative selling, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
Comfortable prospecting independently while also leveraging existing relationships and warm leads.
Highly organized, self‑directed, and able to manage multiple opportunities across a full sales cycle.
Healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, clinical research, healthcare media, medical marketing, or education-related experience is preferred but not required.
Must be able to work onsite five days per week in the Greater Jacksonville area and travel occasionally for industry events.
