Leading the design, buildout, and evolution of a modern data platform, the full-time Director of Platform Development will manage core backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, establish platform architecture, and mentor a growing team while operating in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of backend services and data platform components
Establish and evolve platform architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards
Hire, mentor, and manage engineers as the team grows and transition from individual contributor to leadership
Required qualifications
Deep foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming and design patterns
Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including lakehouse architectures and ELT pipelines
Experience building modular or microservice-based systems
Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
