Student Athletics Broadcast Engineer

Grand Canyon University Athletics is seeking a Student Athletics Broadcast Engineer to support the mission of Grand Canyon University GCU's Athletics Department.
The purpose of the Student Athletics Broadcast Engineer is to assist with production of live athletics broadcasts for the Athletics Department. This includes setting up equipment, testing prior to the broadcast and assisting the engineer with trouble shooting during a broadcast. Must be a self-starter and a Team Player. It takes a TEAM to make a successful broadcast happen!
This job has hours that vary based on the Athletic Broadcast Schedule and hours aren't guaranteed. This position is for those looking for experience in the live/broadcast production field. Come with any open mind and a willingness to learn.
This job will require working evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
The Athletics Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Working with Crew members on live athletic Broadcasts
Current sports include: Men's & Women's Soccer, Men's & Women's Volleyball, Mens & Women's Basketball, Baseball, and Softball
Assist with pre-production planning for live broadcast
on-broadcast games
Assist with Press Conferences and Special Events as needed
Assist in trouble shooting when issues arise during a broadcast
Work with the E-1(Engineer)in prepping for a broadcast
Ability to remain calm and focus on task at hand when issues arise.
Working knowledge of Sony Video Cameras is a plus
Working knowledge of Sony Lenses is a plus
Basic understanding of signal flow is a plus
Willingness to be a problem solver and look for solutions
Qualifications:
· A passion and understanding of sports and sports terminology.
· Be a TEAM PLAYER
· Basic knowledge of camera operation, which includes operating a camera.
· Flexible Schedule
· Ability to work and think quickly in a fast-paced environment
· Being able to work independently and in a group.
· Ability to be a self-starter, learn new skills, and new software.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
· Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
· Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
· Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage Anticipated End Date: June 1, 2027
