Job Description
The Associate
Director, Marketing, Strategic Leadplays a critical role in shaping and aligning the brand strategy forthe brands across global and regional markets. This position is responsible for ensuring the strategy remains relevant, competitive, and consistent across geographies by translating insights into actionable brand direction and supporting execution through the International Brand Team, regional teams, and affiliates.
The role requires close collaboration with a broad cross-functional network, including market access, medical affairs, regulatory, legal, health economics, public affairs, medical and regulatory review, patient relations, business insights, OEC, global learning, and US counterparts. The Strategic Lead partners with these stakeholders gather insights, identify opportunities, address challenges, and ensure alignment on strategic priorities and brand messaging.
Although this role does not include direct people management responsibilities, it requires strong leadership in a matrix environment. The individual must be able to influence without authority, build strong cross-functional relationships, and guide decision-making across multiple stakeholders. Success in this role depends on strategic thinking, analytical capability, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive collaboration and execution across markets.
Responsibilities and duties:
The ongoing development, review, and refinement of the brandstrategythe brand,ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs.
Analyze market research, business intelligence, and customer insights to support strategic decision-making and brand planning.
Monitor relevant scientific publications, external developments, and industry trends that may influence brand strategy and positioning.
Develop and maintain the International Brand Plan in collaboration with key stakeholders across functions and regions.
Lead and facilitate discussions with MLOR through COLLAB to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with governance processes.
Collaborate with the International Brand Team, key internal functions, and selected affiliates to gather local insights and strengthen strategic direction.
Partner with regional teams and affiliates to co-develop action plans that support business objectives and enhancethe brandperformance.
Provide training, guidance, and strategic alignment to regional and affiliate teams to ensure consistent understanding and execution of brand strategy.
Lead the 1-7-5 process within the International Brand Team and prepare presentations forSteerCoreview and decision-making.
Proactively monitor competitor strategies and market activity to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for differentiation.
Manage projects with external vendors and agencies, ensuring activities are delivered within budget and in accordance with agreed timelines, while identifying opportunities for efficiency and resource optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience
Strategic mindset with the capacity to drive execution through affiliates.
Proven track record of effectively working in cross-functional teams and matrix environments.
Capacity to inform and influence INBTs strategic decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong quantitative skills
Able and willing to travel internationally.
