CCA Louisiana is dedicated to conserving, promoting and enhancing the present and future availability of coastal marine resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. Founded in 1983, CCA Louisiana and it’s 25,000 members have been responsible for many advances in marine research, habitat restoration, education of the general public and CCA has advocated for the protection of marine resources.
POSITION SUMMARY
CCA Louisiana is seeking a mission-driven professional with exceptional organizational and interpersonal abilities to serve as its Regional Director. Reporting to the CCA Louisiana Board of Directors and management staff, the Regional Director is responsible for directing volunteer activities related to 7-8 CCA Louisiana chapters.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees day-to-day local CCA Louisiana chapter activities to advance goals and objectives of CCA in the following areas: Conservation, Fundraising, Membership, Communications and Advocacy
Identify, recruit, train and motivate local chapter leaders to ensure each local chapter’s board of directors consists of an appropriate number of active members for continued viability and success
Plan, manage and attend effective fundraising activities.
Provide assistance and guidance to volunteers for all CCA Louisiana-sponsored community events (i.e., fishing tournaments, children’s activities and local trade/boat shows)
Engage local leaders, businesses and politicians to establish strong working relationships
Seek and identify potential new local chapters in Louisiana
Maintain active communication with local chapter membership, chapter committees, staff and State Board
Attend State Board meetings and regular chapter meetings throughout Louisiana
Assist with any special projects and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can connect with a broad range of individuals and entities
Self-motivated, able to operate independently but knows when to communicate and involve others
A team player with a goal-oriented approach to work
Ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to provide vision and inspiration to peers and volunteers
Ability to develop and work within a budget
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience working with volunteer-based organizations and knowledgeable of fundraising techniques
Knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation and required formats
The ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business or other job-related fields preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel throughout Louisiana and occasionally out of state
Reliable vehicle able to pull a trailer
Physical demands include lifting and moving up to 70 pounds, drive long distances, stand for long periods of time
This position regularly requires work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Frequent evening meetings and occasional weekend work required
Must have a valid driver’s license
