The Opportunity
Flywheel is seeking a Senior Art Director to craft strategic storytelling and compelling design solutions that drive commerce for our clients. In this role, you’ll elevate projects to their highest creative potential, managing visual design elements from concept through flawless execution with minimal oversight (across our client’s diverse beverage portfolio). As a key contributor, you’ll ensure on-time and on-budget delivery while engaging with clients directly to shape project direction. Reporting into the Group Creative Director, you’ll be a lead designer responsible for mentoring junior designers and elevating output while delivering top-tier creative solutions.

You’ll serve as the brand steward across a multi-brand portfolio, ensuring cohesive visual storytelling while fearlessly pushing the boundaries of what we’re creating. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role where creative strategy meets execution, and where your design leadership will elevate the entire team.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Upskill: Manage and mentor Art Director peers, establishing and protecting a quality bar that reflects our commitment to excellence. Proactively identifies and formulates solutions to potential challenges. Supervises the production of concepts and manages creative process with vendor and production partners and all other suppliers.

Execute 360 Creative: Bring innovative design solutions and concepts to life across all mediums and platforms (including key visual evolution, retail displays, off-and-on premise tactics, social/digital, and beyond). Develop materials required for effective client presentation.

Be a Brand Guardian: Steward multiple brands within the portfolio, ensuring strategic consistency while championing creative innovation. Exhibit proficient knowledge of assigned brands, categories and competitive landscape. Strong knowledge of typography, layout, composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.

Collaborate Strategically: Work with team members and cross-functional partners to execute briefs with purpose and precision—and the confidence to push thinking while creatively solving client challenges.

Leverage Modern Agency and Industry Tools: Utilize our AI tools to accelerate concept development and bring ideas to life

Who You Are

8+ years of professional design experience

Extensive mastery of Adobe Creative Suite

Proficiency with generative AI tools

Proven ability to execute cohesive 360 degree brand campaigns across touchpoints

Retail and on-premise design experience

Strong conceptual thinking paired with excellent execution skills

Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Experience managing and mentoring creative teams

The Interview Process
Every role starts the same, an introductory call with someone from our Talent Acquisition team. We will be looking for company and values-fit as well as your professional experience; there may be some technical role-specific questions during this call.

Every role is different after the initial call, but you can expect to meet several people from the team 1:1 and there might be further skill assessments in the form of a Take Home Assignment/Case Study Presentation or Pair Programming/Live Coding exercise depending on the role. In your initial call, we will walk you through exactly what to expect the process to be.

$70,000 - $80,000 USD
