VP of Marketing

Socket · New York, NY, USA ·

Job type:
Full Time

Overview
We are seeking a strategic, product-oriented VP of Marketing to partner closely with our co-founder and help shape and execute the company’s marketing vision.

This is not a traditional demand generation role. Instead, this leader will sit at the intersection of product marketing, brand, and strategic growth, translating product strengths and market insight into compelling narratives, differentiated positioning, and creative go-to-market strategies.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands‑on builder—someone who can elevate the brand, craft high-impact campaigns, and bring clarity and focus to how we communicate with the market.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership

Partner directly with the co-founder to define and evolve the company’s marketing strategy and narrative

Translate company vision, product direction, and market dynamics into clear, differentiated positioning

Identify high-leverage opportunities to drive brand awareness and market presence

Act as a thought partner on company-wide strategic initiatives impacting growth and perception

Product Marketing Excellence

Own messaging, positioning, and value proposition across products and segments

Develop compelling narratives that resonate with target customers and differentiate from competitors

Lead go-to-market strategy for new products, features, and key initiatives

Ensure tight alignment between product, sales, and marketing

Brand & Market Presence

Build and evolve a strong, credible, and differentiated brand in the market

Oversee content strategy, PR, thought leadership, and external communications

Drive creative, high-impact initiatives that increase visibility and engagement (events, partnerships, campaigns)

Ensure consistency and quality across all customer-facing touchpoints

Creative Demand & Growth Initiatives

Design and execute non-traditional, high-leverage demand creation efforts

Focus on quality of engagement, narrative penetration, and market influence, not just volume metrics

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of experience in marketing, with significant experience in product marketing and strategic marketing roles

Proven ability to craft positioning, messaging, and narratives for complex products or categories

Strong intuition for brand, storytelling, and market perception

Track record of launching creative, high-impact marketing initiatives

Ability to operate both strategically and tactically—from big-picture thinking to execution

Comfortable in ambiguity and energized by building from 0→1

Why This Role Matters
This role will define how the company shows up in the market—how we are understood, differentiated, and remembered. You will help shape not just marketing execution, but the story and perception of the company itself.
