Job Story
Under general supervision, this student position performs dutiesrelated to social media management and digital storytelling for Student Engagement & Belonging.Responsibilities include creating engaging content that promotes programs, services and events while maintaining brandvoice and consistency across all platforms. This position supports the marketing strategy of the office by developing and scheduling social media content that enhances awareness, engagement and student participationacross campus.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technicaltasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the studentassistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Create, schedule and publish content for social media platforms(Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.) to promote Student Engagement & Belonging programs andservices.
Develop engaging captions, stories, reels and short-form videosthat align with WSU and Student Engagement & Belonging branding and voice.
Collaborate with staff and departments within Student Engagement& Belonging to gather information and content for events, campaigns and initiatives.
Assist in monitoring social media accounts, responding tomessages, comments and engaging with followers to foster community and belonging.
Capture photo and video content at events and around campus foruse in future social media posts and digital campaigns.
Track social media insights and engagement metrics to helpimprove content performance and reach.
Contribute creative ideas to social media strategies, campaignsand ways to connect with student audiences.
Maintain an organized library of social media content, photos,videos and templates for easy access and consistent use.
Perform other social media-related duties as assigned
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6credit hours at Wichita State University.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong attention to detail, creativity and organization.
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of students, staffand campus partners.
Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and X.
Familiarity with social media trends, analytics and engagementstrategies.
Basic understanding of digital marketing, branding andstorytelling.
Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.) for content creation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, engaging captions.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt tofeedback.
Demonstrates professionalism, ethical behavior and respect in allinteractions
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicatewith others and accurately exchange information.
