GENERAL SKILL SETS REQUIREMENTS
This role requires strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support the effective, efficient, and equitable distribution of Food Bank product across a range of public-facing programs. The position also requires the physical capability to assist directly with program setup, breakdown, and distribution activities, along with the flexibility to operate as both an office-based coordinator and an on-the-ground presence at community program locations throughout Westmoreland County.
BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS
The Programs Coordinator will provide support to ensure the effective, efficient, and equitable distribution of Food Bank product. The Westmoreland Food Bank seeks a highly skilled, capable, and mission-focused individual for this position - one in ten people in our community face hunger, and this role directly supports the organization's efforts to address that need. Working under the supervision of the Director of Programs, the Programs Coordinator provides administrative oversight of Programs and operational support for the Food Bank's public-facing distribution programs, including but not limited to Mobile Market, Backpack, Military Share, Summer Food, Pop-Up distributions, and other food distribution mechanisms.
1. Program Operations Support
Assist the Director of Programs with the oversight and operational requirements of various programs
Assist with ensuring the successful operation of all specialty programs, including serving as lead back-up at distribution locations and stepping in when volunteers are not available
Support the setup and breakdown of equipment and materials at program service locations, including lifting up to 40 lbs. repetitively as needed
Operate a small box truck or delivery van as required to support program distribution needs
2. Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to the department to ensure all necessary program documentation is obtained and processed in accordance with policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records related to program operations, distributions, and related documentation
Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, volunteers, agency representatives, and the public in support of program operations
Identify and communicate opportunities for process and safety improvements as part of a broader culture of continuous improvement
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including immediately reporting unsafe acts and behaviors, safety hazards, incidents, or accidents
QUALIFICATIONS
Entrepreneurial qualities and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of ending hunger
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to relate and communicate effectively and professionally with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives, and the public
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal, networking, and customer service skills
Comfort and skill working with culturally diverse populations using a compassionate, collaborative, and respectful approach
Reliable transportation and a valid PA Driver's license are required for frequent travel throughout Westmoreland County
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively and operate a small box truck or delivery van
This position operates both in an office setting and out in the community at various program locations, including periodic warehouse and outdoor environments; close vision and the ability to adjust focus are required
Successful candidates will have either two years of work experience which have allowed the candidate to develop the necessary skill sets, or a Bachelor's Degree.
