Class Description
The marketing promotions copywriter will be integral to themarketing and communications team by developing relevant andengaging copy for print collateral, web/digital, social media,email and advertising in a style and tone that conveys college-widebranding with a focus on recruitment, enrollment andretention.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Englishor a related field and t hree ( 3 ) years ’ experience in marketingpromotional copywriting, content creation and editing . Knowledgeof AP style preferred and understanding of marketing strategypreferred. Candidates selected for interviews will be required tosubmit writing samples.
Class Specific Essential Duties
Develop and maintain processes, tools, and strategies for thedevelopment and execution of marketing promotional copywritingprojects.
Ensure and adhere to a task- and deadline-driven workflow bycompleting the appropriate scope and sequence of work within thetimeline required at each phase.
Problem solves to create high-quality, compelling promotionalcopy across multiple platforms maintaining AP and college standardguidelines.
Ensure all marketing promotional copy is consistent in terms ofstyle, quality and tone of voice
Coordinate marketing promotional copywriting needs with theenrollment marketing, communications, creative services andweb/digital strategy team s to produce original and adapted copythat is clear, compelling and credible.
Assist upper management in developing policies and procedures;monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
Maintains department records and files, as required.
Conduct and attend meetings, as required.
Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects,as requested.
Write compelling marketing promotional copy for collateral,advertising, web/digital, email, social media and other mediums asneeded based on college brand messages, communication goals andaudience research.
Proofread and edit promotional marketing communications toensure proper grammar, spelling and punctuation as well asadherence to College style guide.
Develop creative and effective marketing messages to reachtargeted markets.
Collaborate with Communications, Creative Services and DigitalMarketing/Web Team to integrate promotional copy for priorityprograms and initiatives.
