General Position Description

This position is responsible for capturing and producing high-quality visual content that supports Valencia College's mission and communications needs across digital, print and campaign platforms. Working within the Content Studio area, this role delivers accurate, engaging and brand-aligned photography and video. Depending on the assignments, the role may focus on photography, video production and/or post-production, ensuring content is technically sound and delivered on time.

Essential Job Functions

Description of Job Function

1. Captures, creates and edits high-quality photography and video content in collaboration with Channels & Engagement and Content Studio to support a wide range of institutional needs, including marketing and promotional materials, events, campaigns, digital platforms and internal communications.

2. Plans and executes complex photography assignments, including planning, lighting, shooting, editing, post-production, digital input and file management, ensuring high quality content is delivered across the full production lifecycle.

3. Collaborates with writers and designers to ensure photography and video assets align and integrate cohesively with written and visual design elements, enhancing institutional storytelling and supporting continuous improvement.

4. Maintains and manages photography and video equipment and supplies, including supporting the repair, installation and design of editing suites, control rooms and studio facilities, assists with equipment planning and ensures adherence to established safety and equipment care best practices. Recommends upgrades or enhancements as needed.

5. Manages digital assets by maintaining organized, well-documented library archives and catalogs within shared systems. Oversees the administration and archiving of talent releases forms to ensure proper documentation and compliance.

6. Applies sound visual judgement related to composition, lighting, framing, audio and pacing to meet storytelling and ADA accessibility goals.

7. Ensures all work adheres to institutional brand standards, ADA accessibility requirements and quality expectations.

8. Researches and remains current on digital photography /videography techniques and trends.

9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
