Position description:

The IT & Multimedia Design Teacher serves a dual role, providing technology support and leadership across the school while teaching multimedia design courses to middle school students in grades 5-8. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting devices, supporting teachers with technology integration, and guiding students in projects involving graphic design, video production, photography, animation, coding, digital storytelling, and emerging technologies.

Areas of Responsibilities
Information Technology Support

Provide first-line technical support for students and staff

Manage and maintain school devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, and audiovisual equipment

Support classroom computers, projectors, sound systems, and presentation equipment

Assist with user account management, software deployment, and basic network troubleshooting

Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers as needed

Maintain technology inventory and assist with budgeting and purchasing recommendations

Support cybersecurity practices, data privacy, and responsible technology use

Create and maintain technology documentation, guides, and training materials

Provide technology training and coaching for staff

Support school events requiring technology setup, livestreaming, photography, or audiovisual production

Multimedia Design Instruction

Teach multimedia design courses that foster creativity, technical skills, and design thinking

Teach and develop curriculum in areas such as:

Google Suite

Graphic design

Digital photography

Video production and editing

Animation

Web design

Digital storytelling

Emerging media technologies

Guide students through inquiry-based learning experiences

Teach principles of visual communication, media literacy, copyright, and digital citizenship

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Assess student learning and provide timely feedback

Showcase student work through exhibitions, presentations, publications, and community events

Collaborate with colleagues to integrate multimedia projects across disciplines

Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Technology, Multimedia Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience providing technical support in an educational or professional setting.

Experience teaching or working with children and adolescents.

Proficiency with common educational technology platforms and productivity tools.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Experience in an independent, international, or IB school setting.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, video editing software, and digital content creation tools.

Experience managing Google Workspace for Education and learning management systems.

Familiarity with coding, web development, robotics, AI tools, or makerspace technologies.

Working Conditions

40 hours per week

Willingness to lift and move things around and be active at work

Work hours are 10am-6pm

Compensation

Salary of $52,000

Benefit package includes health insurance, paid sick time, paid Holidays plus additional paid vacation days
