About Us
The American Military Museum preserves and showcases U.S. military history through its collection of historic vehicles, exhibits, and educational programs. We’re looking for a creative volunteer to help modernize how visitors experience and learn from our displays.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Graphic / Media Designer to enhance the museum’s visual and informational materials. This role focuses on improving exhibit signage, creating QR-based interactive experiences for military vehicles, and designing promotional content.
Key Responsibilities
Design and generate
QR codes
linked to vehicle histories, videos, or digital archives
Redesign and update
vehicle information boards
(clear, engaging, historically accurate layouts)
Create
museum signage and exhibit panels
for better visitor experience
Design
posters, flyers, and event materials
for outreach and promotions
Ensure consistent branding and readability across all displays
Collaborate with museum staff to translate historical information into accessible visuals
Qualifications
Experience with tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Basic understanding of layout design for
print and signage
Ability to organize text-heavy information into clean, engaging visuals
Attention to detail and historical sensitivity/accuracy
Interest in military history, museums, or education (a plus)
