Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Public Relations & Strategic Outreach Intern to help expand Beckman Law’s visibility within the startup, technology, innovation, and venture capital communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, entrepreneurship, or law. You’ll gain hands‑on experience building meaningful industry relationships while supporting the growth of a modern intellectual property law firm.
Responsibilities
- Research podcasts, publications, newsletters, conferences, and media outlets focused on startups, technology, innovation, venture capital, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property.
- Reach out to podcast hosts, journalists, founders, investors, conference organizers, and other industry leaders to introduce Beckman Law and secure speaking, interview, and collaboration opportunities.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key contacts.
- Draft thoughtful, personalized outreach emails and follow‑up communications.
- Assist with press releases, guest articles, blog content, newsletters, and other written communications.
- Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, media appearances, webinars, and strategic partnerships.
- Maintain organized outreach records and contact databases.
- Research emerging trends in technology, startups, innovation, and intellectual property.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An excellent writer with strong attention to detail.
- Friendly, professional, kind, and courteous in all communications.
- Comfortable initiating conversations and building new professional relationships.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Curious and eager to learn about startups, technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and intellectual property.
- Proficient with email, LinkedIn, Google Workspace, and online research tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in startups, innovation, technology, artificial intelligence, venture capital, or intellectual property.
- Coursework or experience in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, business, or related fields.
- Experience with social media, networking, or outreach is a plus, but not required.
