Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Marketing will play an integral role indriving revenue and attendance for the Department of Athletics.Along with the marketing, sales, and communications staff, thisindividual will assist in increasing attendance, creating apositive and exciting game day atmosphere, increasing fanengagement, and furthering the brand of Rice Athletics.
Workplace Requirements
Job duties will be performed during both regular office hours,mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. Thisposition will require regular travel. Additionally, the role mayrequire moving items up to 50 pounds and spending significant timeon one’s feet.
Workplace Location
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties tobe performed in-person. Per Ricepolicy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.
*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
1+ year of related experience
Preferences
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Master’s degree in related field
Essential Functions
Develops the communication and brand strategy for individualprograms
Writes, designs, and coordinates the production ofcommunication and marketing materials
Recommends integrated marketing plans/programs and strategiesto meet business objectives
Guides event planning and execution as needed to supportmarketing objectives
Assists in vendor management on specific projects
Conducts market research and analysis used to inform decisionsregarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation andcustomer targeting
Assesses market opportunities and track market trends
Recommends marketing improvements based on findings
Performs all other duties as assigned
