What you'll do
Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies that align with Data4's business objectives and enhance its public image in Spain.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to advocate for policies that benefit the company and the data center industry.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact Data4 and its operations, providing timely analysis and recommendations to senior management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to public affairs and communications.
Organize and lead advocacy campaigns, including grassroots initiatives and public outreach efforts, to raise awareness of Data4's contributions to the local economy and community.
Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to communicate Data4's policy positions effectively.
Represent Data4 at industry conferences, public forums, and stakeholder meetings to promote the company's interests and network with key influencers.
Conduct research and analysis on public policy issues relevant to the data center sector, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making.
Manage the company's engagement with industry associations and coalitions to amplify Data4's voice on critical issues affecting the sector.
Lead crisis communication efforts as needed, ensuring that Data4's messaging is consistent and effective during challenging situations.
Track and report on the effectiveness of public affairs initiatives, using metrics to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
Mentor and guide junior staff members in public affairs best practices and professional development.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or a similar role, preferably within the technology or data center industry.
Proven track record of successfully advocating for policy positions and building relationships with government and industry stakeholders.
Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting the data center sector in Spain and the European Union.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess legislative and regulatory proposals and their potential impact on the business.
Experience in managing advocacy campaigns and public outreach initiatives.
Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
