Job Location: Office of Cuba Broadcasting - Doral, FL 33166
Direct and oversee editorial operations for television, radio, digital, and multimedia content.
Establish editorial priorities, content strategies, and coverage plans aligned with organizational objectives.
Lead news and content planning for daily programming, special events, breaking news coverage, and major initiatives.
Review and approve content to ensure accuracy, fairness, quality, and compliance with editorial standards and legal requirements.
Manage editorial workflows and coordinate activities among producers, editors, reporters, digital teams, and broadcast personnel.
Leads major editorial beats, coverage areas, or specialized reporting initiatives as assigned
Produces and delivers high-impact breaking news, enterprise reporting, interviews, feature stories, and special coverage
Develops original reporting angles, investigative content, and long-form storytelling projects
Coordinates editorial coverage efforts with producers, reporters, assignment editors, and newsroom leadership during major news events
Provides editorial guidance and subject matter expertise within assigned beat or specialty area without exercising supervisory authority
Represents VOA in high-profile interviews, live coverage, panels, and special events as assigned
Writes, edits, adapts, translates, versions, and produces content for broadcast, web, streaming, and social media platforms
Participates in the creation, development, and execution of regularly scheduled or special programming initiatives
Contributes to editorial planning, story selection, coverage strategy, and programming direction for assigned beats or coverage areas
As assigned, serves as lead producer during major coverage events and special programming
Produces finished broadcast and digital products meeting VOA standards for accuracy, balance, objectivity, and timeliness
Contributes advanced production elements including scripting, fine editing, live production coordination, and field production
Performs technical functions including operation of production and field equipment as assigned
Makes recommendations regarding newsroom workflow improvements, editorial innovation, and content strategy
Works independently with minimal supervision in highly complex and fast-paced newsroom environments
Meets VOA standards for productivity, editorial quality, accuracy, and deadlines
Logs and conducts data entry and related functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management systems
Must have knowledge of Cuba’s history and familiarity with U.S. Cuba relations
Other related duties as assigned
