Digital Media & Communications SpecialistThis position supports the College of Nursing's marketing goals by creating content that promotes student recruitment, enhances reputation, and engages key audiences. Guided by the Director of Marketing and Communications, it develops written, visual, and multimedia content for the website, social media, and digital platforms to highlight academic programs, research, students, faculty, and community impact. Create multimedia content, including short-form video, photography, and graphics, for the college website, social media, and digital communications.Website Content Management and Digital Communications: Maintain and enhance the College of Nursing website by creating and updating content, managing faculty and staff profiles, maintaining the events calendar, implementing website updates, improving SEO and accessibility, and producing digital communications, including the biweekly employee newsletter and Faculty Digest submissions.Social Media Content Management: Develop, schedule, and publish content across college platforms; monitor and respond to audience engagement; track performance metrics; and identify trends to inform content strategies that support recruitment, brand awareness, and audience engagement.Marketing Project Coordination and Creative Services: Coordinate college marketing projects and requests, manage workflow and promotional item inventory, collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to gather content, design marketing materials, maintain digital asset libraries, and ensure that communications comply with university brand standards, editorial guidelines, and AP style.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability and experience creating written, visual, and multimedia content for websites, social media, and digital communications. Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content for varied audiences while adhering to brand guidelines, editorial standards, and AP style. Knowledge of strategic communications, marketing principles, digital storytelling, content strategy, and audience engagement techniques. Ability to research, develop, and communicate compelling stories highlighting academic programs, research, faculty, students, and community impact across digital channels. Knowledge of website content management, accessibility standards, SEO, and digital publishing best practices, along with the ability to analyze performance metrics to enhance communication strategies. Proficiency in creating and editing multimedia content, including photography, graphics, and short-form video for websites, social media, and other digital platforms. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, work independently, exercise sound judgment, build collaborative relationships, and represent the University of Arizona College of Nursing with professionalism and integrity.Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, graphic design, or a related field. At least three years of professional experience in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications - Proven understanding of audience segmentation and the ability to identify communication and outreach strategies to engage varied age groups and audiences effectively. Outstanding strategic thinking, planning, and communication skills. Self-motivated and able to take initiative. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, resolving issues with a positive outcome. High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
