Video ProducerExemptDirector of Public Relations & CommunicationsPay Grade 2226 Working DaysPublic Relations & CommunicationsJune 27, 2006January 30, 2025District Primary Purpose:To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.Department Primary Purpose:Support the ongoing communications efforts of the Office of Public Relations & Communications under the direct supervision of the Director, with an emphasis on photography, videography, editing, digital media, graphic design, and social media management.Qualifications/Experience:Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, broadcast journalism, or related field.Three years of experience in communications-related field required, school district experience preferred.Special Knowledge & Skills:Proficient in linear and non-linear video recording and editingAbility to record news packages, video segments, promos and assist in all television media productionsExperience in television and media production, related to digital video, audio, cameras, switchers, video servers, video streaming, live events and post-productionAbility to operate, maintain, troubleshoot audio and video equipmentStrong interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsAbility to work as a member of a team and maintain a positive office environmentAbility to identify, analyze and solve problemsDetail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multitask, able to change assignments on short notice with little or no directionProficient in social media managementFamiliar with data tracking tools to evaluate reach of content and work producedExtensive video editing skills (Premier, After Effects, Photoshop)Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data from a wide variety of Understanding digital workflows and transcoding systemsKnowledge of broadcast environment and master control systemsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Write scripts, storyboard, shoot and edit video and photographyOrganize, schedule, and execute location, shot list, and footage needed for allDesign graphics for all related videoProduce videosSetup and capture studio-quality photographs andPrepare promotional information materials asAssist in the production of news packages, instructional productions and districtAssists with social mediaSupport organizational communications andFulfill master control, and programming assignments asAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasksFulfill the production setup for live events and videoMeet physical demands of job such as loading and unloading of audio and videoTogether with members of the Office of Public Relations & Communications, develop content to promote district programs, products, services, events, and awarenessAssist in coverage of events, including but not limited to, banquets, celebrations, special meetings, and This includes after-hours meetings or activities as assigned.Collaborate with district staff across departments to reach departmentPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Relations &Working Conditions:Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate varied projects/programs; meet deadlines; ability to use and learn from technical self-paced pre-certification courses.Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional irregular hours; frequent and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer workstations; some district wide travel; frequent standing, bending, kneeling and lifting.Position Working Days: 226 DaysAll applications must be submitted online for professional and clerical positions to the La Joya ISD Office of Human Resources Department.This document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
