The role
We’re looking for a
sharp, reliable Junior Editor
to help us publish high-quality content at scale.
You’ll review articles before publication, making sure they are
accurate, polished, engaging, and optimized for search.
This is a high-volume editing role for someone who is
fast, meticulous, and takes pride in getting the details right.
What You’ll Do
Edit and proofread articles before publication.
Fix grammar, spelling, structure, and readability issues.
Fact-check names, dates, statistics, and key claims.
Optimize content for
SEO and reader engagement .
Improve headlines, formatting, and article structure when needed.
Ensure articles follow Military.com’s editorial standards.
Flag inaccuracies or issues before content goes live.
Work efficiently through a consistent volume of articles and deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in
editing, proofreading, journalism, or digital publishing .
Excellent command of written English.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong fact-checking skills.
Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently.
Basic understanding of
SEO and digital content .
Available to work within
Pacific or Mountain Time Zones .
Bonus Points
Military or veteran content experience.
Experience with WordPress or another CMS.
SEO or Google Analytics experience.
High-volume freelance editing experience.
Basic image editing skills.
