With the credibility and strength of our 75-year trusted brand, WROC/RochesterFirst is Rochester, NY's universal local source for news, weather, and information across all platforms.Rochester, NY, ranked as the nation's second most affordable housing market, offers an exceptional quality of life—with outstanding dining, lively entertainment, scenic parks and golf courses, and a friendly, welcoming community.WROC-TV/RochesterFirst.com in Rochester, New York is hiring a Hybrid Content Creator/Production Director who is responsible for researching, planning, and creating content for news programming.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and knowledge of AP styleCreates engaging stories, videos, and imagery for our viewers specific to platformsCode and direct daily live local newscasts and other live and prerecorded productions using Ross OverDrive and ENPSStream live and prerecorded productions using OBS StudioWork closely with News Producers, Photographers, Engineers, and other Directors to enhance our final on-air productWork well in a collaborative team environment; multitasking, problem-solving, and making last-minute decisions under pressure and tight deadlinesBe self-sufficient, managing multiple projects with competing prioritiesPerform other job-related requests and duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:Bachelor's degree in communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is preferredBasic photography, videography and editing experienceExperience in news operations and/or production is preferredExperience with cross-platform live streaming is preferredRoss OverDrive, ENPS, Adobe Premiere, and OBS experience a plusDemonstrate excellent communication skills; fluent in English, oral and writtenAvailable to work all shifts (mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays), as well as extended hours as assignedCompensation: $17 - $18 an hour commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level.WROC/RochesterFirst, Nexstar Media Inc. offers excellent benefits including paid vacations, holidays, sick leave, and personal days, health insurance plans, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K Retirement Plan, paid parental leave, dental, vision, Teladoc, behavioral health services, prescription drug coverage, life insurance plans, paid short term disability, and many more benefit options.
