THE ROLE


Midnight Dawn is looking for an experienced Account Supervisor to join our growing team and help lead a portfolio of sports, entertainment and brand clients.


The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong media relations professional who understands the sports and entertainment landscape, has established press relationships and knows how to turn a client priority into a compelling story.


This person will serve as a day-to-day client lead across select accounts, helping develop and execute thoughtful communications strategies while remaining deeply involved in the work. We are looking for someone who is just as comfortable counseling a client as they are writing a pitch, brainstorming a creative idea or getting on the phone with a reporter.


This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage from a distance. The right candidate is proactive, curious and entrepreneurial with strong instincts and a genuine passion for sports, entertainment and culture.


WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Serve as a day-to-day lead across a portfolio of sports, entertainment and brand clients, managing client communication, priorities and ongoing account strategy;

  • Develop and execute strategic communications and publicity campaigns tied to major announcements, launches, partnerships, events and cultural moments;

  • Lead proactive national, regional and local media relations efforts across sports, entertainment, business, lifestyle, culture and trade media;

  • Identify compelling stories, cultural opportunities and timely angles that advance client objectives

  • Develop creative and highly targeted media pitches and lead outreach to secure meaningful earned media opportunities;

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, producers, bookers, podcast teams and other key members of the media;

  • Draft and edit high-quality communications materials including press releases, media pitches, key messaging, talking points, statements, Q&As, media briefing documents and award submissions;

  • Prepare athletes, talent, executives and other spokespeople for media interviews and high-profile public moments;

  • Provide strategic counsel to clients and senior agency leadership on media opportunities, emerging narratives and potential issues;

  • Manage incoming media requests from initial inquiry through execution, including interview coordination, preparation and on-site or remote media support;

  • Lead client calls and internal account meetings, ensuring teams are aligned on priorities, next steps and deadlines;

  • Collaborate with the broader Midnight Dawn team to develop creative ideas and integrated communications strategies that move beyond traditional publicity;

  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing clear direction, thoughtful feedback and opportunities for professional growth;

  • Review account materials and team deliverables to ensure all work meets Midnight Dawn's standards for strategy, writing and attention to detail;

  • Support new business opportunities, including research, strategic ideation and the development of agency proposals and presentations;

  • Help identify and source new business opportunities for Midnight Dawn, including researching prospective clients, contributing strategic ideas along with participating in new business pitches alongside the senior team;

  • Stay deeply informed on the sports, entertainment and media landscape, identifying opportunities and conversations relevant to our clients


WHO YOU ARE // QUALIFICATIONS



  • You have 8+ years of public relations or strategic communications experience , ideally within an agency environment

  • You have meaningful experience working across sports and/or entertainment

  • You have strong, established relationships with media and a proven ability to secure impactful earned coverage

  • You are an exceptional writer and editor who can adapt tone and messaging across athletes, talent, executives, brands and organizations

  • You understand what makes a strong story and can quickly identify the most compelling angle

  • You are comfortable directly counseling clients and communicating with senior executives, talent and high-profile individuals

  • You are proactive and do not wait to be told what the next opportunity is

  • You thrive in a fast-moving environment and can successfully manage multiple accounts, deadlines and priorities

  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented but understand how individual tactics ladder up to a larger communications strategy

  • You are collaborative, low ego and willing to jump in wherever needed

  • You are intellectually curious and genuinely consume sports, entertainment, business and cultural media

  • You understand that strong media relationships are built through credibility, trust and knowing what makes a story relevant to a specific reporter

  • You are comfortable working remotely while remaining highly communicative and connected to a collaborative team

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of work visas.

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $95,000-$110,000 and this position is eligible for benefits that include medical insurance (health, dental, and vision), retirement plan, paid time off, paid parental leave, etc. Please note that the compensation information provided is a good-faith estimate. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as candidates' relevant work experience, skills, qualifications and location.


LOCATION


There are two positions available. One is a fully remote position for a candidate based in the Los Angeles area and the second is a hybrid position based in New York City . While Midnight Dawn operates remotely, the role will require in-person attendance at client meetings, media opportunities, events and other industry moments in Los Angeles as needed.


Some domestic and international travel may be required.
