Mascot Records is an independent record label focused in metal and rock genres. We're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented intern to support our social media strategy for our artists and releases. The Social Media Marketing Internship focuses on influencer outreach, fan community growth, research, trend analysis, and content planning. This role is ideal for someone deeply immersed in internet culture, music fandoms, creator ecosystems, and social media trends. Meant for someone who wants hands-on experience in video editing, digital marketing, music strategy, and audience growth in the entertainment industry.

Position Overview
The Social Media Marketing Intern will help identify creators, fan communities, and trend opportunities that can support artist growth and campaign visibility. You'll assist with influencer research and outreach while also helping build, manage, and grow fan-facing social accounts and community pages around our artists and releases. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands online fan behavior, creator culture, and what drives engagement organically.

You'll work closely with our Digital Content and Campaign Coordinator to help generate ideas, spot opportunities early, and contribute to creative and strategic discussions.

Responsibilities

Research influencers, creators, fan accounts, and niche online communities relevant to our artists

Build and maintain influencer/contact databases

Assist with influencer outreach and relationship management

Track creator trends, viral formats, and emerging online conversations

Help create and maintain fan pages and community-driven social accounts

Source memes, clips, edits, trends, and cultural moments that align with artist campaigns

Monitor fan engagement and online sentiment around artists/releases

Organize campaign research, analytics, and reporting

Assist with content planning and audience growth strategy

Support digital marketing and social campaigns as needed

Attend artist's local shows and networking events

Qualifications

Deep familiarity with TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, Discord, and internet fan culture

Strong understanding of influencer and fan ecosystems

Excellent research and organizational skills

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify trends early

Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, Canva, or similar tools

Passion for music, artists, fan communities, and digital culture, particularly in the metal and rock genres.

Prior internship or content experience is a plus, but not required

Location: New York City, New York

Schedule: Hybrid flexible

Duration: Fall Semester 2026

Compensation: University Credit, Travel Stipend
