One Decision is a weekly geopolitics interview show on YouTube anchored by Sir Richard Dearlove, former chief of MI6, with co-host John Raine, former UK diplomat and IISS fellow. Guests include senior intelligence officials, foreign correspondents, heads of government, and authors. The channel has grown to more than 420,000 subscribers over the past year.
The role
We want someone who can own the mechanics of publishing so the editorial team can focus on the show. This is a process job centered on formatting and uploading files, images, and text to our website (WordPress), YouTube channel, audio podcast feed, newsletter platform (Beehiiv), and social media accounts. Ideal candidates will be organized, reliable, self-directed, fast, and precise about details like metadata and file naming.
Reports to: Managing Editor, with day-to-day coordination with the COO
Commitment: Roughly 10 to 15 hours per week, contractor, monthly retainer
Location: Remote, anywhere, but must be able to work consistently against NYC business hours
Start: September 2026
Compensation: $2,500 to $3,500 per month depending on experience
What you will do
Episode production support
- Generate final transcripts and check them against the episode audio for accuracy.
- Generate draft episode summaries using Claude and clean them up for editorial review.
Website
- Post articles with full metadata, formatting, and links.
- Source images for articles.
- Build and post episode pages.
YouTube
- Upload shorts with titles, descriptions, and tags.
- Post thumbnails, and eventually create them.
- Post episode descriptions, tags, and chapter markers.
Newsletter
- Compile and format materials in Beehiiv for editorial review.
Social
- Post new episodes to X.
- Distribute shorts to Reels and TikTok.
What we need
- Hands-on WordPress experience. You should be comfortable in the editor, with media, and with post metadata.
- Experience publishing to YouTube, including descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and shorts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear written communication and the discipline to manage time-sensitive processes.
- Comfort using AI tools for transcript and summary work.
Helpful but not required
- Beehiiv or another newsletter platform.
- Video editing for shorts.
- Interest in geopolitics and current affairs.
