JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX News is seeking a creative, resourceful, and highly motivated Field Producer to join our Washington, D.C. Bureau. As the editorial lead in the field, you'll work closely with reporters to shape stories from concept to air. You'll pitch original story ideas, gather information, arrange interviews, write scripts, coordinate logistics, produce live shots and packages, and identify the strongest editorial elements, visuals, and sound. As news develops, you'll make quick editorial decisions, communicate timely updates to the newsroom, and ensure coverage remains accurate, compelling, and moving forward.

The ideal candidate is an experienced journalist with excellent editorial judgment who thrives in breaking news situations. You are calm under pressure, confident making independent decisions, and passionate about breaking news.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with reporters to develop, produce, and execute breaking news and enterprise stories

Pitch original story ideas and identify compelling angles as news develops

Research, write, and produce live shots and packages while working both in the field and in the newsroom

Locate the strongest sound bites, video, and supporting elements for each story

Monitor wires, social media, government sources, and competing news outlets for breaking developments

Stay current on Washington-based political news and major national developments

Use LiveU technology to transmit live and recorded video from the field

Operate camera equipment when needed

Build graphics, lower thirds, and chyrons

Collaborate with editors to create visually compelling stories

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience

Experience at a local or national television newsroom

Demonstrated experience producing live shots, breaking news coverage, and news packages

Strong editorial judgment with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Exceptional organizational, logistical, and problem-solving skills

Experience developing sources and independently pursuing stories

Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in breaking news environments

Experience using iNews, Dalet, Outlook, and LiveU technology is a plus

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as breaking news dictates

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, often with little notice

A valid driver's license and the ability to drive rental vehicles in unfamiliar locations

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-103,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
