Seeking a passionate and hands-on Romance Associate Editor, this full-time position will acquire, edit, and manage a list of adult romance authors while providing essential support to senior staff in a hybrid or remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
Build and develop a romance list by identifying and soliciting manuscripts in priority categories
Monitor the romance marketplace and reader trends to identify acquisition opportunities
Collaborate with marketing, publicity, sales, and design to ensure effective title positioning
Required qualifications:
3-5 years of publishing experience, particularly in romance editorial
Experience evaluating submissions and making acquisition recommendations
Strong familiarity with adult romance, including authors, tropes, and trends
Proven ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Comfort in presenting to groups and building relationships across teams
