The Restore Social Media Coordinator brings the ReStore marketing calendar to life through timely, mission-aligned content, and manages the day-to-day execution of ReStore’s social media presence: content creation, photography and video, publishing, and community engagement.
This position is Part-Time, 25 - 28 hours a week
Responsibilities Content Creation & Publishing Create and publish content across Instagram and Facebook according to the established ReStore marketing calendar, maintaining the weekly cadence detailed under Weekly Content Expectations.
Capture, edit, and publish photos and short-form video (Reels, Stories) of merchandise, store activity, employees, donations, and events, including music, text overlays, and transitions as appropriate.
Write captions and calls-to-action that support sales, donations, events, and Habitat’s mission, and maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity across channels in alignment with organization-wide brand standards.
Plan content capture in advance for major campaigns and events, while staying flexible to cover timely merchandise, trends, and unplanned opportunities.
Regularly visit ReStore locations to source fresh content, and maintain an organized digital library of photos, video, and templates, repurposing content across formats to maximize its value.
Verify pricing, dates, locations, and other promotional details for accuracy before publication.
Community Management & Customer Engagement Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions during scheduled daily check-in windows, in a timely, friendly, and professional manner consistent with ReStore’s brand voice.
Answer routine customer questions (locations, hours, merchandise, promotions) and loop in store teams for anything requiring additional information.
Escalate customer complaints, sensitive issues, or mission-related inquiries to the appropriate team member.
Engage with followers to strengthen community relationships and convert online engagement into store visits, donations, and event participation.
Digital Design & Email Support Create campaign graphics, banners, and social frames using established brand templates, and perform basic photo editing (cropping, resizing, color correction).
Prepare and edit photography and graphics for the weekly ReStore email blast.
Coordinate with internal staff or external marketing partners when additional creative support is needed.
Performance & Reporting Track platform analytics (reach, engagement, video views, follower growth) and use the insights to identify which content and campaigns perform best.
Provide periodic updates to leadership on content performance, audience trends, and notable successes, evaluated on meaningful engagement and business impact rather than follower count alone.
Recommend new content ideas, trends, and creative concepts based on performance data and platform trends.
Weekly Content Expectations Stories: Monday through Friday
Primary posts: 7 per week, including at least 3 Reels/short-form videos
Community management: scheduled daily check-in windows (see above)

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in creating social media content for a business, nonprofit, or brand, including intern experience.
Demonstrated ability to capture engaging photography and video using a smartphone and/or camera.
Knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Stories, Reels, and short-form video editing.
