On-Call Senior Graphic Designer, Bibles

We're looking for a freelance Senior Designer to join our on‑call design roster, supporting our Bible publishing team during busy seasons, special projects, and staff transitions. This isn’t just production work – it’s an opportunity to shape how Scripture is presented to readers around the world, applying exceptional typography, design, and layout skills to some of the most detailed and demanding design work in publishing. Success in this role means bringing strong technical craft, independent judgment, and a personal alignment with our mission, so that every cover, package, and layout delivers the product with clarity and beauty.

What You’ll Do

Design and produce Bible covers, packaging, and possibly interiors

Apply strong typographic principles to highly detailed content

Prepare files for print production and manufacturing

Follow established brand, editorial, and design standards

Collaborate effectively with production artists and art directors

Manage assigned projects independently while meeting deadlines

Provide creative problem‑solving and design expertise on challenging projects

Skills And Qualifications Needed

Exceptional design talent demonstrated through a strong portfolio

Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and efficiently

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Experience in Bible, book publishing, editorial design, or related fields is a plus (not required)

Understanding of and appreciation for Christian publishing is a plus (not required)

Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith

Freelance/on‑call engagement; workload varies based on business needs and project schedules
